Freedom is in fashion, so is self-expression.  Stereotypes breakdown is in fashion, so is mixing styles. Women do their best to say to the world that clothes they wear is just the part of their creative mind, and in no case the sense of their lives. With their appearance women show to those who can read between the lines that the main thing is inside, same as Intel famous advert says.

We believe this is a key reason for oversized fashion to become so popular. Women, as well as men, tend to prefer comfortable clothing nowadays. An item would be (or even must be?) as comfy as your pajamas are.

An item would better be (or even be) as comfy as your pajamas))

Have you ever tried on your husband’s/boyfried’s loose sweater? Try it and feel with your skin how comfortable and cozy it is. Remember this feeling, then wear a fitting dress. Now compare your sensations and wear what you liked more. We bet it’ll be an oversized something!

How to wear oversized trend

Main rules are the following:

• Oversized clothes should be 2 sizes up. If you are tall, items of 3-4 times larger than your size will do. An item that is just one size large is anything but the oversize.

• Best oversized colours are neutrals and pastels — all shades of grey, black, white and beige. This begs the next rule:

• To get the look, play with textures rather than with colors. For example, wear an angora sweater with jogger-pants,

While lace or tulle dress looks good with a knit sweater:

• The fourth rule states: Finery is unnecessary. Matching this stuff may be a headache, while oversized fashion is smart enough to avoid a fuss.

• The fifth rule is the key. It states as follows: there are no rules at all.

Petite ladies who have an inverted triangle body type should be careful wearing oversized clothes. Probably you can’t do without heels. It is also important that an oversized piece would fit on shoulders or be considerably wider. Otherwise total look would seem heavy.

Unexpectedly, oversized items seldom make women look fuller. As a rule, they even hide some extra pounds.

Oversized blouse / shirt

It would be a good idea to tuck your shirt only in front. Such trick has a number of advantages. Firstly, it looks bold, secondly, you achieve the effect of slight carelessness and relaxation. And the last but not the least, it creates vertical stripes, which help to elongate your body and make your waist look slender.

Of course, street style fashionistas may become fed up with tucking in their shirts. It depends on their mood, you see. They may tuck it in if they want and they may not.

Naturally, an oversized shirt goes with a pair of skinny jeans or classic pants instead of a short skirt.

If the bottom of the shirt is flat, then the horizontal line should not pass where your hips have the maximum width, but only above or below this conditional line. If the bottom of the shirt is cut so that the diagonals are formed, this shirt, even if it is oversized, will visually make you look slender.

Combine it with a pencil skirt, an A-line/pleated skirt, shorts, chinos or jeans. Or, better, forget this trivial key information and look at the examples. As we already said above, a minimum of accessories, neutral colours and heels would be nice. Do you have a statement bag? If so, that’s great!
