If somebody ask me to describe in one sentence what today’s fashion is about, I’d answer: simplicity and naturality.
The natural trend covers all areas – you do your best at finding clothing made of green fabric, using Eco makeup, food, etc. Moreover, what’s today’s street style is about? – You are right – it’s all about looking natural.
During Runaway Shows of Ready-to-Wear collections SS 2015 in NY, Milan, Paris and London the challenge of the best stylists hairdressers and makeup gurus was to make models look as naturally as possible. And, at the same time, both designers and stylists had to make as many variations of the natural trend as they could. And they succeeded in doing so – there have been thousand of natural yet different looks on catwalks.
Nonetheless, I managed to distinguish 3 most popular haircuts trends for medium-length hair which will be extremely popular in spring and summer 2015.
Loose Hair and Curves
There is a belief that the longer a woman’s hair is, the more she affects on the environment around her. Adepts of this belief state that the middle of your shoulder blades is the best hair length. I can’t guarantee that both statements are true, but it seems that runaway stylist heard about same beliefs and decided to check out whether they are true.
There were lots models with loose wavy hair on the Ready-to-Wear Shows Spring/Summer 2015.

Straight parting on loose hair will be extremely popular in Spring and Summer 2015.
By the way, according to another popular belief, hair parted in the middle balances yin and yang, which helps a woman stay in rapport with her self.
Models of Chanel Fashion Show SS 2015 are all in rapport I guess:)
Recently I was looking through Elegance – a Guide of Good Taste written by a former director of Nina Ricci Fashion House Genevieve Antoine Dariaux, a Guru of fabled French style. According to her, a women after forty shall not wear loose hair in public settings.
But Chanel brand won’t be the Chanel if it never teared patterns and broke rules – that’s what Coco Chanel was doing all her life. Look at a runaway model Amanda Sanchez who are… well, in her forties:
If your hair isn’t thick, in spring and summer of 2015 you don’t have to give it more volume. To look like a miss Dior, just straighten your hair with the help of flattening iron. Naturality & simplicity are the keys.
Add some sunglasses for a cooler look:
Dare to pair loose hair with a blush and some bronze suntan. To tell you the truth I doubt the blush is natural. However it looks it is:
When you get tired of loose middle-parted hair, opt for a side parting, like Lindsey Wixson had it done for Chanel RTW Collection Show Spring / Summer 2015. By the way, note the nude makeup:
Moreover, in spring and summer 2015 you could experiment with retro style hairstyles. Make some loose curves and do a bouffant on your top. You’ll get exactly same hairstyle models of Diane von Furstenberg Show had:
You could use a hairgrip sometimes, like Céline’s girls do:
Like a wet-hair look? Just do it like Versace‘s catwalk beauties.
Trendy Braids Spring / Summer 2015
If you wish they call your braid trendy, it should pretend you did your hairdo the day before the event, and then only combed your forelocks:
Actually, you can braid your plaits on the day out. If you do so, you’ll get the look like models at Suno‘s runaway show SS 2015 (see the photo on the left below) had. Then the next day your braids will turn into
a mess a hairdo Michael Kors’s stylists suggested (see above). Well, sure it was a joke. In fact, to make braids for MK’s show, stylist Pita Orlando used a dry shampoo in such a quantity that his assistants had to open the windows to get some fresh air.
At the right photo is a braid introduced at Baja East SS 2015 runaway show. By the way the founders of this brand, John Targon and Scott Studenberg had worked as buyers at Céline, Burberry Prorsum and Oscar de la Renta for 10 years and then started their own fashion project.
Ponytail Trend Spring / Summer 2015
Ponytails of any kind, loose and sleek, high and low occupied the top lines of vogue charts several years ago and, it seems, they are not going to surrender their positions in close future.
That’s how ponytails looked like at Reed Krakoff runaway show of RTW for Spring / Summer 2015:
Commenting on Oscar de la Renta’s vision as to catwalk models’ hairstyles, Orlando Pita said that Renta wanted the girls look beautiful and respectable.
To make a ponytail similar to that in the photo, Orlando advises to use a hairspray instead of a gel which looks as if you didn’t wash your hair for a long time. Orlando Pita applied the hairspray on wet hair and during the hairdryer process.
Look cool & holy chic;)Tanya Pochtennykh
