Sunglasses Trend Report 2015

I reviewed a great number pf photos taken during RTW Fashion Shows SS 2015 and did my best at considering the details – colors, accessories, clothing and sunglasses the runaway models were wearing. So, let’s speak about sunglasses 2015 trends and most remarkable eyewear the fashion designers introduced for the upcoming season.

Eye Cat Sunglasses for Spring and Summer 2015

If you’ve read my Fashion Trend Report SS 2015 review, you may know that retro is one of the most popular trends of the season. Considering the fact that cat eye glasses were born in the 50-ties, it would have been strange if they have remained at the backyards of catwalks and .

I read an essay which stated that it was Christian Dior who introduced cat eye frames to the World. According to this story (or was is just an anecdote?), there was a half Russian and half Kazakh almond-eyed beauty in his model agency. They say she inspired Christian Dior to create frames that mimicked her magnificent eyes.

Cat eye sunglasses were spotted at Moschino, Prada, Fendi, Michael Kors’s Fashion shows.

Although all cat eye glasses have one thing in common – the outer corners of the frame are kind of lifted up, cat eye frames SS 2015 significantly different from each other. For example, sunglasses by Fendi are all harp-edged:

Teashades Sunglasses Trend 4 SS 2015

Teashades, John Lennon glasses, Granny Glasses or Round Metal – you can call them whatever you like – is a type of psychedelic art wire-rim sunglasses that were worn, usually for purely aesthetic reasons, by pop and rock icons Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Boy George, Ozzy Osbourne and by other legends.

Teashades by Temperley London reflect the classic version – they have a thin rim, round glasses and ear pieces in the color of the frame:

Wear granny glasses with ethic style outfits to look cool:

Teashade sunglasses are perfect for square or rectangular-shaped faces. If you have a round face, do not wear round-rimmed glasses.

Oversized Sunglasses Trend SS 2015

Oversized sunglasses, which were fashionable in the 1980s and over the last two seasons, aren’t going to move from top of fashion Olympus, and there are reasons for that.

Oversized sunglasses are perfect for those women who are trying to minimize a size of their nose. Celebrities also wear them eagerly, as larger frames help them escape from paparazzi unnoticed. Moreover, oversized sunglasses offer more protection from the sun and UV, so they are a perfect choice for summer. Moreover, a red lipstick and oversized eyeglasses is an easy way to look cool effortlessly.

Motorcycle sunglasses were spotted at Balenciaga SS 2015 runaway show:

Burberry Prorsum sunglasses have something in common with motorcycle glasses but I’d hardly call them classic motorcycles.

Aviator Sunglasses SS 2015

Aviator sunglasses were seen at collections of three legendary fashion houses – Christian Dior, Chanel and Prada.

Like oversized sunglasses they provide maximum visibility and excellent protection from ultraviolet.

Chanel eyeglasses with Swarovski stones all over the frame won’t protect you from the sun – it just an eyewear. Moreover, it seems to me that there is no glass in the right pair of specktackes, and that the model is wearing them just for aesthetic reasons.

Prada sunglasses SS 2015 have a leather panel on its rim. They look gorgeous and pretty dear I guess.
