So, it finally happened – spring has come. It’s high time to pack away the coat and parka and to start loading-up tees, shorts, white suits made of cotton and other warm-weather stuff.
So, what should a man wear in spring and summer 2015 for a perfect look and, consequently, feel? Here is a list of 5 essential menswear pieces you might consider to add to your summer wardrobe 2015.
A Well-Tailored & Loose Blazer SS 2015
The gap between tailoring and loungewear is narrowing.
Can that mean you’ll spend your lazy days on the sofa in an excellent three-piece suit? I am sure, no. Can that mean that a suit tailoring is becoming sporty, getting wider cuts and that notorious loungewear is taking on dainty fabrics and premium styling? Finally, yes.
A Piece in Marsala
The gap between ladies’ and gentleman’s colors is as well narrowing year by year.
The SS15 men runways were awash with whites and aquamarines, but these colors are common in men’s fashion. There is another smart color, and it has become the number one of the year 2015. It is Marsala, and it is named such after a Sicilian wine. The color is rather bright and, at the same time, deep and classy.
Try a less-is-more approach when wearing Marsala, adding just one piece of it. It can be shorts, shirts, pants or a bag, preferably made of quality leather. Or, rather, of suede.
Remember, one piece is enough, not counting two glasses of Sicilian Marsala wine. Include in your shopping list a polo shirt, a pair of cropped pants and bermuda shorts. Well, just a pair of shorts will also do.
Remember, only one piece of Marsala per outfit (a bag is also a part of it, of course).
P.S. They used to call this colour Burgundy and will sometimes keep on saying so I am sure.
A Suede Anything
The on-trend man of the spring/summer 2015 gets inspired by the Wild West. If you are young and brave enough, opt for a suede fringe jacket. If you are brave but well… at your best age, let it be just a suede something with no fringe.
Best way to wear it is with a snow-white tee and a pair of loose jeans. A checked shirt or a striped tee will also look cool in a rather cold summer day.
A Tee with a Statement
It’s not that I am judging other people by myself; though I do personally like reading these creative / weird slogans on T-shirts, I know lots of people with same hobby. ‘Cos a statement on your tee is a version of what you want to say to this world. If you don’t find a T-shirt with a slogan up to your taste, you can get your tee motto-printed somewhere, for example here.
Again, if you are young and / or going to a holiday, buy for summer 2015 a tee with a cartoon hero on it. Which one? You are to decide whether it should be someone you liked in your childhood or someone your kid adores / used to adore.
Lots of Denim for Summer 2015
When Fashion houses such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Burberry let models catwalk in layered denim of any hue and style possible, everyone understand that a big trend speeds up.
I can bet that you are lucky enough to have a pair of decent jeans and probably even a denim shirt, which cannot but mean that you are ready to meet the trend well-armed, or, literally, well-dressed. The only thing that you should learn now is how to mix up high street and flee market vintage pieces of all colours and washes possible.
A Piece in White
Well, you could limit yourself with one tee, but if you wish to, buy for summer 2015 white casual jacket or chinos or… well, whatsoever.
