In New York, Paris, Milan and London, the shows of ready-made women’s clothing for the spring-summer 2020 season have ended, and I am happy to tell you what to look for when updating your wardrobe.

The times when all the clothing could be easily sorted  by trends have long sunk into oblivion. In the spring-summer season 2020, designers offer such a big variety of styles, colors, shades and prints that they would be enough for 10 years in advance. I included only the most vivid and memorable into this review, throwing away still a whole lot of trends. Anyway, there are at least 11 trends and something about 8 microtrends, so you definitely have a a pretty lot of ideas to choose from.

So , here the trends SS 2020 go:

  1. Trench oversize;
  2. A bodice instead of a top or worn on top of it;
  3. Pants and skirts with a low waistline;
  4. White blouses and shirts;
  5. Dresses and skirts with drapery;
  6. Pleated skirts;
  7. Crocheted dresses;
  8. Dresses from lace;
  9. Polka dot print;
  10. Floral prints;
  11. Clothes with lacing;
  12. Pantone 2020 trendy clothing: classic blue, faded denim, coral pink, orange, milky white (Pantone called it Sunlight), beige, grassy-swamp green, and metallic.

Spring 2020 Trend # 1: Trench

It is difficult to say why trenches have been in fashion for several season, and they are in this spring aw well. It’s desirable that your trench is oversized and in beige color, still this color and style aren’t musts.

The trend of spring and summer 2020 No. 2: bra tops

Why? – you could ask. Probably because it demands just a little fabric (it’s both pretty practical and eco if you see what I mean) and and because they are chic. From leather to knit or lace, these bras are ones you may need in spring and summer to show off.

Trend 2020 No. 3: low waistline of pants and skirts

High waist has been a leader in recent years. The trend has been on for so long a time that designers decided – it’s time to swap the trends.  And they did it, and it worked out nice.

Trend No. 4: white blouses and shirts for the spring-summer 2020 season

The boiling white top is an ideal base. And in order to move away from strict pattern and to do your best to look  cool and holy chic, focus on a non-standard blouse. Say, a long sleeved or open shouldered or asymmetric one will do.

Pyer Moss got an original crop top. And Helmut Lang experimented and made buttons on the sleeve as well, exactly where the ironed arrows are usually located. Valentino added long shirts with the same snow-white feathers.

Trend No. 5: Draping

One detail – and so many effects! Drapery can be located in any part of the outfit. Sure, they shouldn’t distort you body proportions.

Trend No. 6: Pleated Skirts SS 2020

Fashion for pleated skirts began in 2016, and it seems that it is not going to extinct. In spring and summer 2020 pleated skirts are in the collections of Phillip Lim, Michael Kors, Prada and Mark Jacobs.

Trend No. 7: Crochet Dresses SS 2020

In 2020, the fashion industry drew attention to a trend that recalls the beauty and value of handmade work. And there is something special about it. Ideal for the beach. A little more complicated – in an urban context.

Trend No. 8: Lace Dresses, Sundresses and Suits 2020

Yes, a summer lace dress is a commonplace. Yes, I include this trend on the list every single year. But, on the other hand, how can you do in the summer without a lace dress?!

Trend No. 9: Polka Dot

In the spring and summer of 2020 a real boom of polka dots awaits us. And there are plenty to choose from: from tiny dots in a black and white palette to huge peas of every color.

Trend No. 10: Floral Prints

The association is like wallpaper from the 60s. Designers give the trend a dramatic scale and volumetric silhouette. Marc Jacobs introduced the trend with the help of maxi dresses with a kinda metallic spraying. Badgley Mischka showed classic feminine aesthetics on translucent flying fabrics.

The trend of spring and summer 2020 No. 11: clothes with lacing

Cords are one of the key characters in the entire epic of the next warm season. In jewelry, shoes, bags, clothes – everywhere! A rope replaces a belt, clasp, belt and even a bracelet. They can also be made of different materials: Tory Burch showed black leather laces on a dress, Valentino – from snow-a white dress complemented by a golden angel is not a must but pretty nice.

Trendy Colors of Spring and Summer Season 2020

Pantone™: Classic Blue is the Color of 2020

On December 6, Pantone experts introduced Classic Blue, the most popular color of 2020. Commenting on the Pantone 2020 fashion palette, Pantone color institute executive director Leatrice Iseman said she associates Classic Blue with self-reliance and cosmic energy.

Typically, Pantone experts analyze the color palette of the collections presented at Fashion Weeks in New York and London only. It’s hard to say why they ignore Milan and Paris shows, but I know how the NY and London Pantone palettes look like:
